International Institute of Welding
A world of joining experience
The IIW set up international groups of specialists to study collectively the scientific phenomena associated with welding and allied processes, their more efficient industrial application and the means of communicating information about them. The IIW also organizes the exchange of scientific and technical information, to encourage excellence in the field and to provide for the transfer of knowledge related to these techniques.
American Welding Society
AWS serves more than 66,000 members worldwide. Membership consists of engineers, scientists, educators, researchers, welders, inspectors, welding foremen, company executives and officers, and corporate members including welding manufactures, independent welding shops, distributorship, end-users, educational institutions and more. Member interests include automatic, semi-automatic and manual welding, as well as brazing, soldering, ceramics, lamination, robotics, and welding safety and health.
American Society of Mechanical Engineers
ASME is a not-for-profit membership organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, career enrichment, and skills development across all engineering disciplines, toward a goal of helping the global engineering community develop solutions to benefit lives and livelihoods. Founded in 1880 by a small group of leading industrialists, ASME has grown through the decades to include more than 130,000 members in 158 countries.

Canadian Welding Bureau
The CWB Group is an industry supported private sector not for profit organization providing welding certification, management systems registration and training services. Supported through the Canadian Welding Bureau, QUASAR and the Canadian Welding Association membership, the CWB Group provides a comprehensive and integrated service to the welding and joining industry.
Canadian Standards Association
We are a standards development organization (SDO) accredited both in Canada and the U.S. This accreditation acknowledges that we comply with a specific set of accreditation criteria. As a result, our standards are recognized around the world for their balance, technical superiority, and ability to meet the needs of industry, regulators, manufacturers and consumers.
CSA Group has the largest subject area recognition of the SDOs accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), an organization that co-ordinates Canada’s National Standards System. We maintain our accreditation by developing consensus standards that adhere to the requirements established by the SCC.
American National Standards Institute
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has served in its capacity as administrator and coordinator of the United States private sector voluntary standardization system for more than 90 years.
ANSI facilitates the development of American National Standards (ANS) by accrediting the procedures of standards developing organizations (SDOs). These groups work cooperatively to develop voluntary national consensus standards. Accreditation by ANSI signifies that the procedures used by the standards body in connection with the development of American National Standards meet the Institute’s essential requirements for openness, balance, consensus and due process.
Canadian Institute of Steel Construction

Advocate, teacher, promoter. The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) is Canada’s voice for the steel construction industry. The CISC promotes dialogue, collaboration and commerce between industry stakeholders – advancing the benefits of steel to the consulting community, builders and buyers, academia and government. The CISC represents a diverse community of steel manufacturers, fabricators and constructors, engineers and architects, owners and developers, and educators and students, offering a wide span of products and services to enhance capabilities and grow businesses. Founded in 1930, the CISC operates as a technical, marketing and government relations organization representing the Canadian Steel Industry.
